Context


If you're building a financial model for a startup, and you need to predict the future,

Here's what always helps me to remember:

EVERY financial report exists within a context.

You do not have to make something that WILL be true.

You have to make something that is truthful given the context,

And to be transparent about that context.

If you've done that,

Put the spreadsheet down,

And move on.
